Mezzanine Floor – from single to two-tier

From Single Tier to Two Tier

Mezzanine Floor

Storage Concepts  Ltd recently completed a substantial installation for a major packaging supplies company who were expanding on a huge scale in Derbyshire.  The project entailed dismantling  an existing single tier mezzanine floor that Storage Concepts had previously installed some 5 years ago and dismantling all the shelving and mesh cages that were on the mezzanine floor.  All of the materials were removed from the premises and taken to Storage Concepts fabrication factory where the existing steel work was re-fabricated so that different finished floor levels could be achieved to enable the customer to use the space as efficiently as possible for stacking their packaging products.

Two tier mezzanine floor

The existing area where the mezzanine floor was originally situated was totally cleared and all of the existing floor fixings were sheared off to leave the floor in near perfect condition for new pallet racking to be erected in that area.  The re-fabricated steelwork was then delivered back to site and completely installed into its new position as a two tier mezzanine floor, including re-fabricated staircases and the addition of extra floor space.

The whole process was completed within budget and within the time-scale that was set and the customer was extremely pleased with the end result which did not result in them losing any productivity and has enabled them to increase the amount of products they can now store to fulfil the new contracts that they have.

Project update – Nottingham

Storage Concepts recently completed a second installation for a major communications supplier in Nottingham.

We have previously installed partitioning systems, furniture and seating into their new premises and with further expansion we were asked to design further office suites and meeting rooms and kitchen areas.  This involved 75mm thick demountable partitioning with full height glazing and integral venetian blinds.

We were also requested to form  an opening into the dividing wall of the two new units to provide access from one to the other.

The whole installation had to be completed to a very tight time scale which was met and Storage Concepts is now working with the customer in supplying complete packages including partitions, ceilings, floor coverings, office furniture, seating and full communication systems to new and existing customers.

The installation was completed on a major new office park and the premises are also being used as an additional showroom for prospective customers to view at first hand as the customer was so happy with the completed project and the quality of work we provided.

If you are looking to expand your current business premises or looking for a total refit then why not visit our showroom in melton Mowbray.

Office Partitioning – Frameless glazed

Glass Partition - standard height door

Frameless glazed partitions

Storage Concepts continue to secure projects utilising their frameless glazed partition system.

The system which has a micro head and base rail utilises 10mm, or 12mm, toughened glass to provide a unique modern glass partition system, giving a contemporary open plan feel to office and reception areas.

The competitive pricing of the Storage Concepts portioning, when compared against similar more established products in the market place, shows an excellent cost advantage, and when taken in conjunction with the high quality finish and specification of the system, has allowed Storage Concepts to secure a number of valuable projects.

In addition to the glazing, and to comply with glazing regulations, Storage Concepts also supply and fit opal

Building regulations are required to be obtained and Storage Concepts can provide this service with there Approved Building Control Inspector who not only checks out the structural calculations to ensure the mezzanine floor is designed correctly and satisfactorily, but also checks this against the slab information and also checks for the means of access for personnel to and from the mezzanine floor, should, in the worst case, a fire start.
